It is a bit disappointing these tips regarding general hair care aren’t talked around more often. People that incorporate these basic hair growth tips improve their hair health.
These basic hair growth tips are great and very inexpensive ways to promote healthy hair.
Basic Hair Growth Tips
These are the simplest, easiest things that you can do to have your hair look amazing. Since it does not cost much to do them, you can incorporate them easily into your hair-care habits.
Shampoo less often
You might find this hard to believe, but shampooing frequently is not good for our hair. It’s true. Shampooing leaves the hair dry after cleansing it, and this includes stripping it from its natural oils. Limit your shampooing to two times a week only. Your hair will thank you for it.
Use ammonia-less shampoo
Also, choose a shampoo that does not have ammonia since it is particularly aggressive in drying your hair. Search the ingredient lists. If you see it there, drop the shampoo. Try natural shampoos instead.
Deep conditioner adds much-needed moisture to your hair, which is the opposite of dryness. Apply one after bathing, and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it out. Do this 2 times a week max.
Apply essential oils
Essential oils can supply potent nutrients directly to the hair. Apply them at the roots and massage your hair for 20 minutes. Let it sit for another 20, then rinse it out after.
Try a natural hair mask
You can make an awesome hair mask yourself with some common ingredients. Hair masks are incredible at strengthening your hair. Mix one egg with one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Apply it to your scalp and down your hair. Let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing. Do this once a week.
Don’t dye your hair
Or do it less frequently and use only semipermanent dyes since those are less aggressive. The dye contains chemical ammonia and peroxide to help achieve the desired colouring.
The problem is, it dries your hair too much when it lifts its protective barrier to let the new colour stick to it.
In case it isn’t clear enough yet, drying your hair makes it easier for it to break, which is the opposite of growing it out. Hair straighteners and hair dryers are often used, but they also dry your hair a little too much.
Instead, let your hair dry on its own after showering. The heat of the sun also does this, so wear a sun hat if you are going to expose your hair to it for a long time.
Brush it right
Get either a wide-toothed comb or a nylon brush for the job. With the former, comb it from the root and down. With the latter, do it from the tips towards the roots.
Also, never brush your hair when wet. It is already being pulled from all the water on it; it does not need more stress.
Dry it with a microfibre towel
Normal bath towels have thick fibres that can get stuck in your hair and pull them. Microfibre towels do not have these, so get one.
Also, dry it by gently putting the towel around it and gently squeezing the water out of it. Don’t gather your hair under a bath towel turban; it pulls your wet hair a little bit too much.
Get some hair supplements
In case you don’t think you are getting all the essential nutrients of hair through your diet, you can supplement it. Get hair supplements that provide vitamin A, B, C, and E. Also, iron and zinc supplement to supercharge your hair production.
Massage the scalp
Your hair needs a healthy dose of blood flowing, and massaging the scalp gets it to it. Apply some gentle pressure to it for 10 to 15 minutes before going to bed every night.
